"My Favorite Rain" - Guitar Tab - Alexandr Misko

“My Favorite Rain” is the third single from the FINAL BOSS album and serves as a looping intro to “My Favorite Thunderstorm”. These two pieces are usually performed together as one continuous suite in two parts.

This is a live-looping song, which means you will need a loop pedal, as well as some basic guitar effects such as delay, reverb, and a Digitech Whammy Ricochet to recreate the sound of the album version.

Each layer you hear is recorded in real time and looped while new layers are added on top, gradually building a full orchestral feel that would not be possible to perform all at once on a single guitar, even on my “Frankenstein Guitar”.

Technically speaking, this is one of the more accessible pieces on the album, since it does not require traditional fingerstyle playing where everything happens simultaneously.

Instead, you build the tune step by step: starting with guitar, then adding Schlagwerk drums, bass, scratches, harmonics, and other elements, each recorded separately into the loop pedal.

One of the key moments in the piece is the “electric guitar” solo section. To recreate this sound, I recommend using a distortion pedal to achieve a more aggressive, electric-style tone.

Toward the end, the loop is stopped to transition into “My Favorite Thunderstorm”, using loud strummed chords that imitate the sound of thunder.
